Those are all good points, but I would submit a more important point: God knows we need Android Netrunner back. Dice do the job, as does card shuffling, but I think there's cleverness to be had. In general, the ways we've done randomization is pretty old school. I've scoffed consistently every time I've seen digitalization of board games before, but it's coming. Even just a small video game like has a mechanic that I'd love to see in person but right now is hard to imagine how to make it practical. Some video games come to mind like Slay the Spire, Hearthstone and Marvel Snap that really maximize digitalization with cards that would be fiddly in person. Gloomhaven is heavily flawed and it is still (rightfully) a top game.Īnother is the digitalization of games. Most legacy games are based around preexisting games, but there's a lot of room for legacy games with new ideas. I think there's lots of room, but it might not be apparent until it happens. r/tabletopgamedesign - Designer's subreddit.r/boardgameexchange - selling/buying/trading games.Game of the Week Calendar Related Sites & Subreddits The simplest use is to bold game names in your comment and add " /u/r2d8 getinfo" at the end of the post, but this post/sub has other features identified.
